Pineapple // Things I love, Volume 1

I recall reading about the cultural significance of the pineapple after buying a welcome sign with a pineapple on it for one of my first apartments. Ages ago the pineapple became associated with returns from extended voyages at sea. It represented welcoming and hospitality which quickly made its way into the contemporary art world. The image of a pineapple presents a warm, homely and beach-like vibe that I can’t get enough of.

I have wanted a pineapple tattoo forever now. I recall discussing a few of my ideas with my tattoo artist years ago and this seems to be the one that has really stuck with me.

So here you have ‘Things I Love, Volume 1: The Pineapple’
